NFL American football franchise the Detroit Lions has entered into a multi-year partnership with credit card processing firm International Bancard in an effort to help support local businesses.
Under the deal, International Bancard will serve as the team’s official credit card processor.
International Bancard and the Lions will also launch a joint contest in which local Detroit-based businesses will compete for the opportunity to become an official partner of the team.
Finalists will present a pitch to both International Bancard and the Lions, with a winner being determined through a combination of public and panel voting. The competition is open now and finalists will be announced early next month.
Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand said: “In addition to creating another strong partnership between metro Detroit businesses, our two organisations are collaborating to bring more focus on dedicated entrepreneurs shaping their communities now and in the future.”
