The Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC) has announced professional services firm Deloitte as its third top-tier partner of the 2015 SEA Games.
Deloitte will serve as the official professional services partner to the 28th edition of the regional multi-sport event, which takes place next June.
The firm will pledge more than SGD$5m (€2.95m/$4m) in cash and value in-kind services such as advisory, assurance and consulting services to the SEA Games, where it becomes the third tier one sponsor alongside telecommunications company SingTel and supermarket chain NTUC FairPrice.
Deloitte’s contribution means the 2015 SEA Games has now amassed SGD$25m in sponsorship revenue, halfway towards its overall target of SGD$50m.
A number of Singapore’s prospective athletes for the SEA Games, including badminton player Derek Wong and netballer Suhailah Binte Kariman, are employees at Deloitte, which has an established track record in supporting major multi-sport events such as the London Olympic Games, the Vancouver winter Olympic Games and the inaugural Youth Olympic Games. The latter event took place in Singapore in 2010.
