US technology company Dell has entered into a wide-ranging partnership with the International Tennis Hall of Fame, through which it will title sponsor the ITHF’s annual men’s ATP World Tour tournament.
Under the five-year agreement, Dell will hold naming rights to the ITHF Open, which takes place in Newport, Rhode Island in the United States, until 2021.
Dell will also contribute its technology solutions and expertise to create a digital archive for the ITHF from its museum collection of artefacts, photos, video and publications.
ITHF chief executive Todd Martin said: “The sponsorship enables us to continue to deliver a world-class professional tennis tournament in Newport, and to grow our work to preserve and promote the history of tennis. While all tennis fans may not be able to visit Newport, through this initiative, they will eventually be able to engage with our museum collection online and through other special programs, so that they can learn from and be inspired by the sport’s history.
“To find a collaborator that is not only interested in putting their name on an event, but also in investing in our mission and our future is incredibly energising. We look forward to kicking things off this summer with a great tournament, and to growing in our delivery of the Hall of Fame’s mission through this relationship for years to come.”
This year’s Dell Technologies Hall of Fame Open will take place from July 16-23. Croatia’s Ivo Karlović (pictured) is the defending champion.
