Mexican Primera División football club Cruz Azul has agreed a five-year partnership with US sportswear manufacturer Under Armour.
Under the deal, which will run from the 2014-15 to 2018-19 season, Under Armour will design and supply match wear, training kits and athletic equipment for the club.
Under Armour will also benefit from in-stadium signage, marketing use of club trademarks and outfitting rights for the Cruz Azul youth teams.
Matt Mirchin, executive vice-president of global marketing at Under Armour, said: “They are one of the most decorated clubs in Latin America and their perennial domestic success continues to elevate their global significance. This partnership will go a long way in expanding our presence in football.”
Cruz Azul finished fourth in last year’s Primera División, but won the 2013-14 Champions League, a continental club competition organised by the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) governing body.
