Dallas-headquartered telecommunications company Ciao Telecom has agreed a deal through 2018 with Colorado Rapids to become the Major League Soccer team’s first front-of-jersey sponsor.
Ciao’s logo will also feature on the Rapids’ training and travel wear and throughout its Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The deal was brokered by Denver-based Impression Sport & Entertainment and the financial terms were undisclosed. Ciao has entered into the agreement in order to boost its presence in the US market.
Don Pinkston, president of Ciao North America, said: “The Rapids are a successful, fast-growing club with local and national relevance and we could not think of a better company and platform to align with as we launch our company in the US. As we develop our product line, especially relating to the fan experience at sports venues, the chance to work closely with (Rapids owners) Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is a phenomenal opportunity.”
Colorado’s new jerseys with the Ciao branding will debut in Saturday’s MLS home match against Los Angeles Galaxy.
