Indian Super League football franchise Chennaiyin FC has agreed a partnership with Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances manufacturer Haier.
The company has been named an associate sponsor of the Chennai-based club. The length of the deal was not disclosed.
As part of the agreement, Haier will receive branding on Chennaiyin’s jerseys and will be given extensive advertising inside the club’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
“This association is a step closer to our audience, whose attributes resonate with those of football,” Eric Braganza, president of Haier Appliances (India), said.
Chennaiyin, managed by former Fifa World Cup-winner Marco Materazzi (pictured), is currently fifth-place in the ISL after four games of the 2015 season.
