Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club Chapecoense has announced food distribution company Aurora as its new main sponsor.
The deal will cover the 2017 season and will earn the club R$4.56m (€1.37m/$1.45m).
Aurora’s logo will feature on the front of Chapecoense’s jerseys as part of the agreement, while the company will benefit from further brand exposure.
Aurora will also help the club in its bid to expand its membership programme.
Aurora replaces state-owned bank Caixa as the club’s main sponsor. Caixa is negotiating a deal with the club for its branding to feature on another area of the shirt.
The announcement of Chapecoense’s partnership with Aurora comes as the club prepares to return to competitive action.
Nineteen of Chapecoense’s players were killed in November when their plane came down on a mountainside near La Union, a small town near the Colombian city of Medellin, where the team had been travelling to face local side Atletico Nacional in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final.
