Canadian newspaper publisher Sun Media Corporation has announced a partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee covering the Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
A subsidiary of Quebecor Media, Sun Media Corporation will serve as COC’s official national French-language media partner and its regional French and English-language media partner.
Under the initial three-year deal, Sun Media will provide exclusive editorial content around Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 and benefit from access to athletes for its special correspondents.
In Quebec, its coverage will be featured in Le Journal de Montréal, Le Journal de Québec and the free urban daily 24 Heures, along with its series of community weekly papers.
Across the rest of Canada, Sun Media will run English-language coverage in the Toronto Sun, Winnipeg Sun, Calgary Sun, Edmonton Sun, Ottawa Sun, London Free Press, 24 Hours and community newspapers.
Further coverage will be available on the newspapers’ associated websites and Sun Media is set to mark the COC partnership with several exclusive contests and prize giveaways associated with the Olympic Games.
