Banking group Caisse d’Epargne has signed up as a sponsor of the FFBB and the FFHB, the national governing bodies of basketball and handball in France, respectively.
The FFBB said that its deal would start this summer and run until 2017.
The bank’s deal with FFHB will run for at least the next two years, covering the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, according to French newspaper Le Figaro.
Caisse d’Epargne has been a long-term sponsor of both sports in France and the renewals will include various branding rights.
“Eighty-one per cent of French people associate Caisse d’Epargne with basketball, and with handball it is 76 per cent,” the bank’s director of development, Cédric Mignon, said.
