Budweiser will become the presenting partner of the 2019 Women’s International Champions Cup as part of a multi-faceted deal between parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev and tournament organizer Relevent Sports.
It is the first time that the women’s event – which is in its second year – will have a presenting partner.
This summer’s tournament is being held at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., from Aug. 15-18. The participants are Manchester City, Olympique Lyonnais, Atlético Madrid and hosts the North Carolina Courage.
The deal highlights the growing value to sponsors of women’s soccer and of the ICC women’s event, which earlier this year secured its own apparel partnership with Nike.
Sister brand Bud Light will also serve as the official beer of the men’s tournament. Terms were not disclosed.
