Multinational oil and gas company BP has agreed a deal with British Athletics to sponsor para athletics events at this year’s Anniversary Games in London.
BP will serve as an events partner of the Games, which take place at London Stadium on the weekend of July 21-22.
The deal extends BP’s backing of para sport. The company is a global partner of the International Paralympic Committee and has sponsored the British Paralympic Association for 10 years. BP also supported last year’s World Para Athletics Championships in London.
BP has a long-standing relationship with four-time world and double Paralympic champion Richard Whitehead (pictured), and recently agreed a similar ambassadorial partnership with 17-year-old Kare Adenegan, who has already won three Paralympic and five world championship medals.
