Temporary power provider Aggreko has agreed a deal to partner this year’s World Para Athletics Championships in London, England.
Aggreko will provide generators, cables and distribution panels in order to meet specialist energy requirements at the multi-sport event, which will run from July 14-23 at the London Stadium.
The company has supplied similar services to other major sports events, such as the London 2012 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, which were hosted at the same venue.
Niels de Vos, championship director for London 2017, said: “Aggreko have a brilliant track record in providing specialist energy solutions for some of the biggest sporting events in the world and we look forward to working with them on the championships over the next four months.”
The 2017 World Para Athletics Championships will take place prior to the International Association of Athletics Federations’ World Championships, which will be staged at the London Stadium from August 4-13.
Aggreko was appointed following a competitive tender process.
