German automotive manufacturer BMW has extended its sponsorship of the DP World Tour Championship, the season-ending event on golf’s European Tour.
The new deal will run for three years, from 2015 through to the end of 2017.
Under the agreement, BMW will continue to serve as the official car of the event, which takes place this year from November 19-22 at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The company will also provide a number of its vehicles to chauffeur players to and from the tournament, as well as supplying vehicles for the use of officials at the event.
In addition, BMW will reward the first player to make a hole-in-one on the 17th hole during this year’s event with a new BMW i8.
BMW has been the official car of the $8m (€7.1m) tournament since 2010 and is also the official car of the European Tour, title sponsor of the BMW PGA Championship, BMW International Open and BMW Masters tournament and a European team partner for the Ryder Cup.
