Bidvest Foodservice, a subsidiary of international investment holding company Bidvest, will partner both English Premiership rugby union outfit Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder, which competes in the third tier of English rugby league, for the 2015-16 season.
The agreement formalises an existing collaboration between Bidvest Foodservice and Newcastle Rugby and contains an option to extend beyond the initial year.
Bidvest Foodservice’s logo will appear on the right sleeve of both the Falcons and Thunder shirts for the forthcoming season.
Newcastle Falcons managing director Mick Hogan said: “They have been great supporters of the club now for a number of years. By working closely with them we have significantly grown our match day hospitality and non-match day conference and events business.
“This has culminated in Newcastle Falcons, alongside Ramside Event Catering, winning the tender for the official Rugby World Cup Fanzone in Newcastle later this year. It will be the biggest event we have ever undertaken away from Kingston Park Stadium and I’m sure that with the continued support of Bidvest Foodservice it will be a massive success.”
