UK bookmaker Betfred has extended its title sponsorship of the World Snooker Championship.
Betfred’s new deal with World Snooker will run until at least 2021 and has been signed with the 2019 event currently ongoing at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
Betfred first sponsored the event in 2009. It returned as title sponsor in 2015 and its previous agreement was due to expire after this year’s tournament.
This year’s World Championship concludes on Monday, with the winner to pick up £500,000 (€582,000/$654,000) in prize money.
Beftred also title sponsors the Super League rugby league competition.
