US telco AT&T has entered into a regional partnership with esports organisation ESL.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that AT&T will serve as the official telecommunications and mobile gaming partner of ESL North America.
AT&T will support ESL’s various events on the continent including the Arena of Valor Pro League, the E3 ESL Arena, ESL One New York, and the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) North America.
In addition, AT&T and ESL will work together at industry exhibitions and events to promote the new partnership.
AT&T will also provide superfast Wi-Fi and charging stations, and showcase the latest in technology through immersive experiences and demos. The telco added that it will ultimately incorporate its future 5G technologies to take mobile esports to the “next level”.
Mark Cohen, senior vice-president global brand partnerships at ESL, said: “With such an experienced traditional sports brand like AT&T jumping into this industry, there are endless possibilities to what they can naturally bring to esports fans and players all over the world.”
