AS Roma teams up with Hyundai as new Global Automotive Partner

Serie A club AS Roma has signed a new multi-year partnership with Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor Company.

Starting this season, Hyundai will become the Global Automotive Partner of the three-time Serie A champions until 2021.

As part of the deal, the Hyundai logo will feature on the back of all AS Roma jerseys in domestic competitions.

The news comes after Hyundai inked similar deals this summer with Premier League club Chelsea FC, La Liga side Atlético Madrid, and Bundesliga club Hertha BSC.

Hyundai is also the main shirt sponsor of former Ligue 1 champions Olympique Lyonnais, who in late 2017 extended their deal with the brand until 2020.

The partnership is understood to be a three-season deal, from 2019-20 to 2021-22, and builds on AXA’s existing Global Partner agreement with Liverpool.

The deal is the largest ever sponsorship investment in UK women’s sport and comes less than a year after the league went fully professional in September 2018.

Under the five-year global deal, Oppo will become the first Official Smartphone Partner of The Championships, Wimbledon, as the event is officially known.
