English Premier League football club Arsenal has agreed a two-year extension to its partnership with UK pay-television channel BT Sport.
Building on an initial collaboration established last October, BT Sport will continue to promote its football coverage – including its flagship live matches from the Premier League – through Arsenal’s digital channels in the UK and Ireland until the end of the 2015-16 season.
BT Sport will also benefit from access to Arsenal first-team players to create exclusive content, with the channel set to roll out a series of television advertisements focused on the club’s FA Cup triumph last season.
The renewal brings Arsenal’s association with BT Sport in line with that of Premier League counterpart Manchester City, which penned a three-year deal including the title sponsorship of its City Square pre-match entertainment venue in August 2013.
City and Arsenal will face each other in the English football traditional pre-season curtain-raiser, the Community Shield, on August 10. The match between the respective Premier League and FA Cup winners will be shown exclusively live by BT Sport in the UK.
