Financial services firm Allianz has strengthened its golfing ties by partnering with the 2013 Women’s British Open.
The tournament runs from August 1-4 at The Old Course, St Andrews – the iconic Scottish golf venue where Allianz is a global partner.
Additionally, the German firm has announced its sponsorship of Spanish golfer Beatriz Recari.
A winner on both the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LPGA Tour, Recari will become the female face of Allianz’s social media and digital golf programmes this year following the launch of Facebook.com/AllianzGolf.
Allianz Life in the US is a long-term title sponsor of the Allianz Championship, Florida’s annual PGA Champions Tour event and the group is building a substantial portfolio in women’s golf.
At the end of last year it announced it would support the 2015 edition of the Solheim Cup, to be held at the Allianz-sponsored Golf Club St Leon-Rot in Germany.
