The Algarve Tourism Association (ATA), the official tourist board for the Algarve region of Portugal, has entered into a partnership with golf’s 2015 Women’s British Open.
Under the deal, the Algarve will become the official European golf destination of this year’s event, which takes place from July 30 until August 2 at the Trump Turnberry Resort in Scotland.
The ATA will launch a multi-platform campaign ahead of the event to promote the new partnership and will also undertake various activities during the event.
Activities will include the chance for four golfers to play on the Trump Turnberry Resort golf course.
The Algarve is regarded as a popular destination for golfers due to its many golf resorts and courses. The region also enjoyed an association with last year’s edition of the World Match Play men’s professional event.
