Online travel accommodation service Airbnb has penned a new deal to become the title sponsor of Basketball Australia’s men’s national team programme.
As part of the deal, Airbnb will become the title sponsor of the Australian Boomers national team, the U-19 Emus and the U-17 men’s team, as well as a major sponsor of Basketball Australia.
Basketball Australia chair Scott Derwin said that Airbnb’s rapid worldwide growth was a key reason for the governing body to link up with the company.
“Basketball Australia is very proud to have Airbnb – an organisation boasting tremendous recognition and popularity worldwide – throw significant weight behind the Boomers and our men’s national team programme,” Derwin said.
“The Boomers are enjoying massive popularity with the phenomenal success of our athletes in competition both at home and abroad, so this partnership with Airbnb is a natural fit – particularly considering the strong sense of community between these two brands.”
