AFL’s Collingwood refuels with United Petroleum

AFL Aussie rules club Collingwood has reached a three-year deal, from 2015 to 2017, to make fuel retailer United Petroleum a major partner.

United Petroleum’s branding will feature on all match balls used during Collingwood home games from the 2015 season onwards and the company will benefit from an extensive advertising presence at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on match days.

Fan rewards and incentives are also planned as part of the agreement, although financial terms were not disclosed.

United Petroleum chief operating officer David Szymczak said: “This is a great opportunity for United to reinforce and grow its brand with a club that is also a great Australian success story. We recognise the value in rewarding the loyal Collingwood members and have plans for innovative offers and rewards.”

Collingwood finished 11th in the 2014 AFL standings.
