Chinese telecommunications company Huawei has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Italian Serie A football team AC Milan.
The agreement, which was brokered by the team’s commercial advisors Infront Italy, makes Huawei the mobile partner of AC Milan and its chief communications supplier.
Under the deal, Huawei will be able to use the Milan brand for marketing and communications activities in Italy and abroad.
“The partnership with Huawei will offer us fantastic commercial opportunities in the Chinese market and I am sure that it will be mutually beneficial,” AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani said.
Huawei sponsored the Italian Super Cup when it was staged in Beijing in 2011 – a game which saw Milan overcome city rival Internazionale 2-1.
Huawei will join Milan’s premium partner tier, sitting alongside Nutrilite, Indesit, IziPoker and Frecciarossa.
