World Snooker signs new title sponsor for German Masters

Online gambling operator D88 has agreed a deal to become the new title sponsor of the German Masters World Snooker ranking event.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that the deal will be in place for the 2018 German Masters, which runs from January 31 to February 4 at the Tempodrom in Berlin.

Initial qualifying rounds for the event will take place in Barnsley, England, from December 19-22 this year, with 128 players each needing to win two matches to progress it to the final stages.

The 2018 German Masters will have a top prize of £80,000 (€87,500/$104,300).

England’s Anthony Hamilton won the title last year after beating countryman Ali Carter (pictured) in the final.
