Winamax adds Angers to Ligue 1 portfolio

French Ligue 1 football club Angers SCO has signed a kit sponsorship deal with online poker operator Winamax.

The company has agreed a two-year deal to serve as the club’s shorts sponsor for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

Under the agreement, Winamax will organise competitions for fans to win prizes such as match tickets and shirts. Supporters will also be given the chance to meet players at a poker tournament later this year.

Winamax also serves as the shorts sponsor of fellow Ligue 1 clubs Nantes and Girondins de Bordeaux.

Angers finished the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season in 12th place. The club also reached the final of the Coupe de France knockout tournament but lost 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain.
