German Bundesliga football club Werder Bremen has entered into a partnership with Asian online gaming company Heji18.com.
The deal is effective from the 2017-18 season onwards and names Heji18.com as the official Asian online gaming partner of the club.
The company will benefit from in-stadium advertising exposure as part of the agreement.
Werder Bremen’s chief executive, Klaus Filbry, said: “Heji18 is one of the leading online gaming providers in the Asian market and is keen to increase the popularity level through its commitment to Werder. The Bundesliga and Werder Bremen have a very large presence, especially in China. The partnership with Heji18.com is thus not only a further strong addition to our sponsorship pyramid but also an important step in the internationalisation process for Werder Bremen.”
The announcement of the partnership coincided with the club signing China international Yuning Zhang on a two-year loan deal from English Premier League team West Bromwich Albion. West Brom signed the 20-year-old forward from Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem before immediately loaning him to Werder Bremen.
