The Marston’s brewery has signed a seven-year extension to its partnership with English county cricket club Warwickshire.
The new agreement, which will see Marston’s retain its title of the club’s official beer, will run through until the 2023 season. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed, although the club confirmed that the deal was worth “more than seven figures”.
As part of the deal, a new Moseley Arms Real Ale bar will be developed in the RES Wyatt Stand at Edgbaston, Warwickshire’s home ground and one of the leading international venues in English cricket. The bar will sell craft beers to spectators during games.
The extension of the partnership will see the two parties’ association pass the 20-year mark.
Neil Snowball, chief executive of Warwickshire, said: “Edgbaston is hosting 35 major match cricket days until the end of 2019, with an Investec Test Match each summer, including England v India in 2018 and England v Australia in the Ashes in 2019. We’re thrilled that Marston’s will be part of one of the biggest periods in the stadium’s history.”
