Warrior adds Sevilla and Fellaini to football portfolio

WARRIOR SPORTS has made its second major entry into European club football by agreeing a five-year kit deal with leading Spanish club Sevilla.

The deal, which takes effect from July 2013, means that Warrior will design and manufacture the official shirts of the La Liga team, as well as its training kit, until 2018.

The agreement marks the American firm’s first Spanish football partnership and comes after signing a record-breaking £150 million, six-year kit sponsorship deal with English Premier League club Liverpool in January.

Warrior is unlikely to be investing such a sum in sponsoring Sevilla, but it will surely represent a significant uplift on the value of the club’s existing contract with Chinese sportswear brand Li-Ning.

The Sevilla contract was announced the day after Warrior Sports revealed it had signed Everton star Marouane Fellaini to a long-term endorsement deal, prompting speculation that the Belgian could be on the verge of making a high profile cross-city switch in the January transfer window.

Fellaini will be the focus of a campaign to promote ‘Skreamer’, Warrior’s first ever line of football boots.

Further player and team deals will be announced in the coming weeks as Warrior Sports looks to stake a claim in the football brand world.
