Korean tyre manufacturer Hankook has signed a sponsorship deal with the W Series ahead of the inaugural season of the women’s motor-racing championship.
Hankook will serve as the Official Tyre Partner of the 2019 W Series campaign, which gets underway at the Hockenheimring in Germany in May.
Hankook will provide the series with its Ventus Race tyre as part of the agreement.
W Series chief executive Catherine Bond Muir said: “Hankook is an exciting and innovative company, which, like the W Series, is always prepared to strike out in a new direction. For this reason, we are happy to have a partner like this on our side. We received a lot of interesting offers, but Hankook had by far the best overall package and will be fully committed to helping us offer women better opportunities in motorsport.”
The W Series will run alongside German touring-car series the DTM.
