Australia’s Supercars motorsport series has partnered with telecommunications firm Vodafone.
Under the agreement, Vodafone will assume exclusive naming rights for the series’ safety, course and medical cars during the 2017 season. Vodafone will also serve as Supercars’ official telecommunications partner.
Supercars will benefit from Vodafone's national and regional networks to aid in connecting the sport with fans across Australia.
Vodafone previously sponsored the series between 2007 and 2012. The new partnership will begin this weekend at the Phillip Island 500 event in Victoria.
Supercars chief executive, James Warburton, said: “Vodafone is an incredible global brand which will connect the sport of Supercars to our fans and new audiences nationally and regionally.
“We are proud to have Vodafone back in the sport which they have already had so much success in. Vodafone knows the huge and powerful reach of Supercars on a national platform with major events in all states and the Northern Territory.
“Supercars also has a massive digital reach and footprint domestically and globally, as does Vodafone. We feel this is a perfect match.”
