Wearable athletic technology brand Vert has reached an agreement with the IMG agency to become the title sponsor of its new US women’s college volleyball event.
The Vert Challenge will feature IMG partner schools the University of Texas, University of Florida, University of Nebraska and University of Oregon over the next four years.
The inaugural event takes place at Gregory Gym in Austin, Texas on September 4-5, before heading to Oregon, Florida and Nebraska in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively.
As part of the agreement, Vert will provide wearable technology demonstrations and on-site promotions for fans.
Vert founder Martin Matak said: “This is the first title sponsorship for Vert and a first for wearable technology in an event featuring four nationally ranked, powerhouse NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) schools.”
