Brazilian Volleyball Confederation signs new kit partner, lands Delta deal

The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) has agreed partnerships with Japanese sportswear manufacturer Asics and Delta Air Lines.

Asics’ four-year deal names it as the CBV’s official apparel partner through until the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The agreement covers Brazil’s beach and court volleyball teams.

Asics, which partnered with the CBV between 1994 and 1996, replaces Brazilian sportswear brand Olympikus as the body’s kit partner. “Olympikus wanted the renewal, but we had already proposed Asics,” CBV chief executive Ricardo Trade told the Maquina do Esporte website.

Asics is also a global partner of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

Meanwhile, US-based Delta Air Lines will serve as the official international air carrier of the CBV. The agreement will run until the end of 2017.

Delta Air Lines will be responsible for transporting Brazilian players to overseas tournaments and will also receive brand exposure at events held in Brazil.
