Campeonato Brasileiro Série A football club Vasco da Gama has confirmed a five-year deal that makes financial services group Banco BMG its new main sponsor.
The deal, which was initially reported last week, will run from 2019 to 2023 and BMG debuted on the front of Vasco’s shirt during its 2-0 Carioca Série A win at Resende yesterday (Wednesday).
The agreement ends a one-year period in which the Rio de Janeiro-based club has been without a main shirt sponsor. Vasco said further details about the BMG deal will be revealed at a press conference, on a date yet to be confirmed.
BMG has previously partnered with Vasco and the club’s chairman of the board of directors, Alexandre Campello, said: “This partnership is an achievement of all vascaínos and a fundamental step in the process of restructuring and strengthening the club led by this management.”
