North American NBA basketball team the Utah Jazz and its operating group Miller Sports Properties has agreed a long-term partnership with University of Utah Health Care (UUCH).
The partnership will run for five years, from 2014-15 to 2018-19.
As the official healthcare partner of the Jazz, UUCH has also aligned with Miller Sports Properties-affiliated Salt Lake Bees Minor League Baseball Triple-A team and the company’s facilities and media platforms.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Utah Jazz players will benefit from access to the hospital’s physicians, including specialists in areas such as orthopaedics and cardiology, while UUCH will also provide services related to sports medicine science, research advancements and technological innovation.
Additionally, UUHC and Miller Sports Properties will collaborate on a range of Utah Jazz community initiatives including the ‘Jazz Fit’ and ‘Bee Healthy’ health programmes.
