Financial services company USAA has extended its title sponsorship of the annual American college football game between the US Military Academy and US Naval Academy teams.
USAA, which serves military personnel and their families, will remain the game’s presenting sponsor until at least 2025 after agreeing a long-term renewal of its partnership.
The announcement was made ahead of Saturday’s 116th edition of the game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Naval Academy won the game 21-17.
As part of the new agreement, USAA and the academies have developed a new game logo, which will be introduced from next year. The company has also extended its support to the Army-Navy Star Series, which sees the two academies compete against one another in a variety of other sports.
“There cannot be more aligned partners with the same values, vision and dedication to our military men and women in selfless service than USAA and the academies,” Chet Gladchuk, the Naval Academy’s director of athletics, said. “America’s game is in safe harbour due in many respects to the extraordinary commitment of USAA, one of the finest service organisations of our time.”
USAA began its backing of the annual game in 2009.
