USA Swimming, the country’s national governing body of competitive swimming, has renewed its partnership with Canadian pharmaceuticals company Valeant.
Valeant, which first teamed up with USA Swimming in 2009, will be the body’s exclusive skincare sponsor until the end of 2016.
Valeant develops the CeraVe skincare products, which are popular with competitive aquatics athletes. It is hoped the continued partnership will help raise awareness of skincare problems among swimmers.
Joe Gordon, general manager, consumer health care at Valeant Pharmaceuticals, said: “We trust this sponsorship will help to further generate awareness and trial for the CeraVe brand, while providing a benefit for swimmers and their skincare concerns.”
Matt Farrell, USA Swimming chief marketing officer, added: “Swimmers, coaches and spectators need to take care of their skin and 75-per-cent of our membership uses a moisturiser to help.”
A dedicated Twitter hashtag, #SkinLovesCeraVe, will also be set up to give further exposure to the Valeant brand.
