Online gambling operator Unibet has agreed to become the new title sponsor of the Professional Darts Corporation’s Premier League Darts event.
The deal will run for three years, from 2018 to 2020. The competition will now be known as the Unibet Premier League.
Unibet, part of the Kindred Group, has also opted to extend its partnership with PDC events the Masters and the European Championship for 2018.
The operator has been working with the PDC since 2014 and has also sponsored a number of its other major events, including the World Grand Prix, Champions League of Darts, World Series Finals and the Melbourne Darts Masters.
PDC chairman Barry Hearn said: “The Premier League’s growth since 2005 has been a phenomenon in British sport and it’s another boost that Unibet were so keen to add this prestigious event to their growing darts sponsorship portfolio.”
Betway had been serving as title sponsor of the competition.
