Major League Baseball franchise the Miami Marlins has entered into a multi-year partnership with transportation network company Uber.
The deal names Uber as the preferred ridesharing partner of the Marlins.
As part of the deal, a dedicated pick-up and drop-off zone will be situated at Marlins Park for all home games and other events taking place at the stadium.
Under the agreement, riders will also be able to nominate service members or veterans providing quality service as part of the UberMilitary Driver Partners initiative. Highly-rated divers in the South Florida area will be awarded tickets for Monday-night Marlins games, where they will be recognised for their service.
Marlins president David Samson said: “We are very excited with our new partnership with Uber as we continue to find ways to improve the overall fan experience at Marlins Park. The designated lot will provide fans with another transportation option when attending Marlins games, special events, and all the upcoming All-Star Game activities in July.”
Uber holds partnerships with a host of sports teams, including the Marlins’ MLB rival, the Atlanta Braves.
