Japanese automotive firm Toyota has signed a one-year sponsorship deal with the University of Michigan Athletic Department.
The agreement was brokered by IMG College, the collegiate marketing and licensing arm of the IMG agency.
Spanning the 2013-14 school year, the contract involves promotional opportunities through the remainder of the football campaign, as well as the men's basketball and ice hockey seasons.
Toyota will benefit from radio and internet promotions relating to all three sports at the University of Michigan.
This includes the Power Play Community Donation scheme, where Toyota will donate $250 (€184) to the First Robotics campaign to establish robot sports competitions at every high school in Michigan every time the Wolverines ice hockey team nets a power play goal.
Toyota has a large technical centre near Michigan's Ann Arbor campus and employs approximately 1,200 people in the region.
