Italian power equipment company Pramac has been unveiled as the title sponsor of this year’s German MotoGP round, while Italian wine brand Prosecco DOC has agreed a similar deal with the UK leg of rival motorcycling series the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK).
MotoGP’s German round is scheduled for July 13-15 at the Sachsenring and will officially be known as the Pramac Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.
Pramac has an existing presence within MotoGP as title sponsor of the Pramac Racing team.
Paolo Campinoti, chief executive of Pramac, said: “Germany represents a very important market for Pramac also thanks to its deep-rooted presence in the territory, fed by our Stuttgart branch which is celebrating its 25th year of activity. It will be a weekend of meeting and work for the Pramac group with the hope that it can also be a further incentive for Danilo Petrucci, Jack Miller and for the whole team.”
Prosecco DOC, meanwhile, will sponsor this year’s UK WorldSBK round, which will take place from May 25-27 at Donington Park near Leicestershire.
Prosecco DOC is an existing partner of the series and has previously title sponsored events in Germany and the Netherlands.
Next weekend’s event will officially be titled the Prosecco DOC UK Round. As part of the agreement, spectators will be able to sample Prosecco DOC products inside the fan zone at Donington Park.
Stefano Zanette, chairman of the consortium which oversees Prosecco DOC, said: “Being this round’s title sponsor is an extraordinary opportunity for us to get closer to the British fans, who made the UK the first market in the world for the consumption of Prosecco, thanks to their love for our sparkling wine. The connection with the UK is increasing on the touristic side too: our Denomination, which means the land of Prosecco, is the most ‘clicked’ destination by English-speaking wine lovers.”
