Swiss watchmaker Tissot has entered into a partnership with Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL) club competition.
Tissot will serve as the official watch of the NBL for the 2017-18 season.
As part of the agreement, Tissot will award the MVP and every player of the Championship team with a luxury watch. Tissot will also work with the NBL on prize giveaways for fans.
“At Tissot we love our sport and we love our basketball, so this partnership makes perfect sense,” Tissot president François Thiébaud said.
“With Australian basketball reaching new heights and the NBL going from strength to strength, we thought it was a great time and a great opportunity to partner with the league as its official watch.”
The deal comes after Tissot last month renewed its partnership with the International Basketball Federation (Fiba). The five-year agreement runs until 2021 and names Tissot as a presenting partner of Fiba’s mobile applications. Tissot is also the official watch partner of NBA team the Charlotte Hornets as part of a multi-year deal signed in November 2016.
