British UCI WorldTour cycling outfit Team Sky has extended its partnership with Italian bike manufacturer Pinarello.
The two parties have agreed a new four-year deal, which will run until the end of the 2020 season. Sky has been a partner of Pinarello since the team’s formation in 2010.
Under the extension, Pinarello’s Dogma bikes will continue to be used by Team Sky’s cyclists. Team Sky has won the showpiece Tour de France event three times in six years using Pinarello’s bikes and Chris Froome (pictured) is currently on course to land his third title at this year’s event.
“Evolution never stops, and there is still a huge desire to grow together with Team Sky,” Fausto Pinarello, the company’s president, said. “We still have so many ideas on the shelf to help bring Team Sky higher and higher. We are partners of the best team the cycling world has ever experienced, in terms of organisation, professionalism and results.”
