Team New Zealand has agreed an extension to its long-running sponsorship agreement with Japanese automotive giant Toyota to cover the 2017 edition of the America’s Cup sailing race.
By the time the 35th running of the storied event concludes in Bermuda, Toyota will have sponsored Team New Zealand for 25 years.
Toyota branding will feature on the Team New Zealand boat. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Last month, Team New Zealand renewed its title partner agreement with Emirates airline and another long-standing sponsor, watchmaker and timing specialist Omega.
Competition in the next America’s Cup begins in July, with the first event of the America’s Cup World Series, in Portsmouth, England.
