The Swedish Handball Federation has entered into a partnership with specialist handball apparel and equipment manufacturer Kempa.
The company has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal to become the SHF’s new kit and ball supplier. The deal covers Sweden’s men’s and women’s national teams and will also see Kempa provide the federation’s referees with kits.
A Kempa-developed kit was worn for the first time during the men’s team’s friendly against the Czech Republic on Monday. The replica kits will go on sale in Sweden in March.
“Cooperation with the SHF is a milestone in our strategy to strengthen and build up the brand name Kempa in Sweden,” Melanie Steinhilber, chief executive of Uhlsport, the German sportswear manufacturer which founded Kempa, said. “Right from the start of negotiations, we saw great opportunities for active cooperation that can strengthen both parties.”
Sweden’s men’s team will showcase the new Kempa kit at this year’s European Championship, which takes place in Poland from January 15-31.
