Jonsson Workwear has agreed a deal to take on naming rights to Kings Park, home of South African Super Rugby franchise the Sharks.
The deal officially renames the stadium as Jonsson Kings Park. The length of Jonsson’s deal with the Durban-based team was not disclosed.
As part of the agreement, Kings Park and the surrounding precinct will undergo renovation work. Jonsson will also benefit from brand exposure on the Sharks’ kit, along with team activations and promotion on social media channels.
Jonsson Workwear was founded in Durban and has grown to become a national brand with a strong international presence.
The company’s chief executive, Nick Jonsson, said: “As a proudly Durban-based business we wish to encourage other local iconic businesses to work with us to make Durban a lifestyle and business destination of choice.”
The Sharks will play Japanese team the Sunwolves at the newly-renamed stadium tomorrow (Saturday).
