German Bundesliga top-tier football club VfB Stuttgart has extended a sponsorship deal with the Mercedes-Benz Bank.
The new deal will run from three years, from 2014-15 to 2016-17.
The financial services company’s logo will remain on the front of the Bundesliga team’s shirts, and the two parties will collaborate on other branding initiatives.
The partnership was due to expire at the end of this season.
Stuttgart is fighting to avoid relegation and is currently only above the relegation zone on goal difference.
“We are very happy about the early contract extension with the Mercedes- Benz Bank,” Stuttgart president Bernd Wahler said. “It is especially commendable that a premium brand such as Mercedes-Benz Bank has made such a commitment despite the current difficult sporting situation we find ourselves in.”
