Carl Buddig & Co has agreed a one-year deal with NHL ice hockey team Chicago Blackhawks to sponsor the defending Stanley Cup champion for the 2013-14 season.
The lunchmeats and meat snack products company will benefit from in-game advertising, sponsorships and contests, as well as in-store advertising and point-of-sale branding.
The firm will also appear in spots on WGN radio, the sole radio rights holder for the team through the 2018-19 season, and WGN-TV, which holds local television rights for the Blackhawks.
Carl Buddig & Co. will also take part in a digital advertising campaign with WGN radio and the Chicago Tribune newspaper.
In addition, the firm will feature on the WGN Radio Fan Van initiative. The tour will make select stops at local retailers throughout Chicago and feature promotional giveaways and various activities.
The sponsorship will cover the entire 82-game NHL season and give coverage to Carl Buddig & Co. products such as Buddig Original Lunchmeats, Premium Deli, Deli Cuts and Cracker Snackers, Old Wisconsin Snack Bites, Snack Sticks, Snack Slices and Summer Sausage.
“As a team that shares our commitment to celebrating traditional family values, our Blackhawks partnership will bring greater consumer awareness to our brands,” Carl Buddig & Co’s executive vice-president of marketing, Tom Budding, said.
