Spanish Segunda División football club Sporting Gijón is reportedly set to announce online gaming company Interwetten as its new main shirt sponsor.
Spanish sports news website ElDesmarque reported that Interwetten’s branding would feature on the front of the club’s shirts. The length of the deal is unknown.
Interwetten, which is based in Vienna, recently partnered with German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. Interwetten will serve as the official sports betting partner of Wolfsburg for the 2019-20 season.
Meanwhile, Gijón’s fellow Segunda División club Málaga CF has extended its partnership with financial services company CaixaBank for three seasons, until June 2022.
CaixaBank first partnered with Málaga in 2012. The company is a premium sponsor of the club and benefits from advertising across communication channels and hospitality packages for clients.
CaixaBank also participates in the MCF Foundation’s ‘Blue and White Values’ campaign, which promotes healthy habits within sport. Additionally, it will continue to promote innovations such as ‘El Tercer Banquillo’, which offers Malaga fans and CaixaBank clients the chance to experience a match pitch-side at Estadio La Rosaleda.
