Telecommunications company Singtel has signed a five-year extension to its partnership with the Singapore National Olympic Council.
Under the new agreement, Singtel will support Singaporean athletes at this year’s Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as well as the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia and the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Singtel will provide funds to aid the training of athletes ahead of the events, and will seek to promote and develop sport in Singapore.
Singtel will also provide athletes with mobile plans during this year’s SEA Games, which run from August 19-30.
Singapore won its first-ever Olympic gold medal at last year’s Rio Games, with swimmer Joseph Schooling (pictured) emerging victorious in the men’s 100m butterfly.
Singtel began supporting Team Singapore in 2012.
