Singapore Airlines has renewed its title sponsorship of the Singapore leg of the Formula One motor-racing championship.
The new two-year deal covers the 2018 and 2019 editions of the event. Singapore Airlines has sponsored its home grand prix since 2014, when it took over the rights from telco SingTel.
This year’s Singapore Grand Prix will take place from September 14-16 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The Singapore Grand Prix debuted in 2008 as Formula One’s first-ever night race and has grown to become one of the highlights on the calendar.
Singapore GP Pte Ltd chairman Teo Hock Seng said: “The partnership over the last four years has been a key component in the success of the night race. As we embark on the next chapter with Formula One, we look forward to harnessing our combined reach and brand recognition to showcase the very best that Singapore has to offer.”
Formula One chairman and chief executive, Chase Carey, added: “The strength of Singapore as a destination is an example of the excitement F1 is creating around the globe and having prestigious partners such as Singapore Airlines shows our ambitious vision is shared by the market leading companies around the world.”
Organisers of the Singapore Grand Prix last September signed a four-year extension to their hosting rights deal with F1. The agreement covers the 2018 to 2021 editions of the race.
